Shared Lives Medication Module

This module is based upon our Supported Living Medication Module which is certified by the CPD Certification Service.
It is delivered by a fully qualified Pharmacist or a GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician.
It is aimed at carers who work within Shared Lives Schemes supporting people in their homes.
 
The module provides theoretical knowledge, the practical assessment of competency being carried out by the line manager.

The module includes:

The law & regulations, all about drugs and medicines & their journey through the body and how they work.

The common side effects & adverse drug reactions, the administration of topical medicines e.g. eye, ear and nose drops, inhalers, patches, personal products, patient owned medication and the 6 Rights of Administration including record keeping, self-administration & covert medication 
 
The module is 4 hours in duration, a workbook is provided and a certificate on successful completion of the multi choice assessment.
