The aim of the PRN Medication Module is to provide carers & nurses with sufficient knowledge to enable the safe & effective administration of when required medication in social care.
It is delivered by a fully qualified Pharmacist or GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician & includes:
What a PRN is, care plans, PRN Protocols, documentation of PRNs including the 6 rights of administration, points to consider, reviewing PRNs, discontinuing PRNs & the different types of PRNs including anxiety, insomnia, vomiting, pain & indigestion.
The module is 2 hours in duration, a workbook is provided and a certificate on successful completion of the multi choice assessment.
