The aim of the Schools Module is to provide staff with sufficient knowledge to enable the safe & effective administration of medicines in schools.
It is based on our Key Module which is fully accredited by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
This module provides theoretical knowledge, the practical assessment of competency being carried out in the school by the line manager.
It is delivered by a fully qualified Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC and includes:
The law & regulations including the legal framework of medicines
Ofsted, the regulations governing the management of medicines in schools & covert administration.
Record keeping including MAR charts, checking in medicines and storage.
Self administration, the 6 Rights and dealing with errors.
Drugs & medicines including the journey of a drug through the body,
Types of medicines & how they act in the body
The administration of topical medicines e.g. eye, ear and nose drops, inhalers, patches, personal products, homely remedies
The module is 4.5 hours in duration, a workbook is provided and a certificate on successful completion of the multi choice assessment.
Cost is £45 plus VAT per head (£54 inc VAT)
