to practically assess their staff as being competent at carrying out medicines administration.
The purpose of this course is to assess the effectiveness of any theoretical training before
the person being assessed is signed off as being practically competent to administer medication.
This module keeps learners up to date with current legislation as the module is reviewed: updated regularly as legislation & recommended practice changes.
It ensures when learners assess their staff as they administer medication in a real life scenario, a key part of their role, they will adhere to law, recommended practice & thus contribute to the
overall health, wellbeing & more over dignity, of their service users by ensuring their staff are using: adhering to best practise. The assessor’s knowledge of best practise around administering
medication means the knowledge they gain from this module should ensure this knowledge is first class.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A "TRAIN-THE-TRAINER" COURSE
All staff you assess following this course MUST have already passed a medication admistrattion course for eveidence of a standard of theoretical
knowledge.
All staff attending this module should have previously attended and passed safe handling of medicines training.
