Epilepsy Medication Module

This module provides staff with sufficient theoretical knowledge to enable the safe & effective administration of medicines to manage & treat epilepsy.

It covers the definition, signs, symptoms and diagnosis of epilepsy. The different stages of seizures and the causes. The various treatments and drugs used and seizure management, including the use of Buccal Midazolam.

This module is 3 hours in duration, a workbook is provided and a certificate on successful completion of the multi choice assessment. This certificate does not indicate practical competency in the administration of buccal midazolam or any other treatment for epilepsy.

Competency in the administration of any medication should be assessed in your place of work by a appropriately trained and practically competent member of staff, Epilepsy Nurse or District Nurse.

As we are unable to assess practical competency we provide a detailed theoretical and practical toolkit to assist the assessor in their role in signing off the learner as practically competent.

Cost on-site is £55 plus VAT per head (£66 inc VAT)
